tennis

On April 26th we honored our graduating Boys Varsity Tennis Athletes.

Welcome everybody, we have a big senior class graduating this year. I’m grateful for them, and I’m curious to see where they all end up. I’m going to miss them all and as their coach I’ve gotten to know them very well.

Jaden Burke

The first person I want to thank is our team manager, Jaden . She is a senior as well and has been a tremendous help the past couple years. I want to thank her for helping us out with everything, we couldn’t have done it without her.

Richard Echeverri

Richie just came out to Tennis this year. He’s new to the tennis team and is learning the game, he brings some levity to the team for sure. He’s having fun and getting better every day. I’m glad he came out to the team and hopefully it’s a sport he’ll continue to play from here on out.

Ryan McNerney

Ryan is another senior who came out to tennis his senior year. He’s coming over from soccer and is starting to pick the game up. He’s gotten in a couple matches and has been successful with them. He’s done really well and is having a lot of fun, and that’s all I can ask for from someone who’s never picked up a tennis racket before.

John Stauffer

Jack has been with me for a couple of years now, he came out as a junior. He has improved drastically in the last two years. This year he really stepped up and his effort is great. He’s playing first doubles in many of the matches. Him and Colin secured the win for us against Maple Hill in a four set tie breaker - one of the more exciting matches we’ve had in recent times. It’s really nice to see Jack’s progress and he’s done a great job.

Colin Augstein

Colin is Jack’s doubles partner. He’s been with us a number of seasons as well. He’s playing first doubles with Jack. Colin certainly brings his volleyball skills to the Tennis court with his serves. He likes to get aggressive on the court for sure and he’s doing great!

Ben Reinhard

Ben came out for his senior year and he has used a lot of his athletic prowess from the soccer field on the tennis court and has been very successful. Not a bad ping pong player as well - I’ve beaten him once (out of 20). Ben is our number five singles player and he has had a great season so far and I expect it to continue.

Nick Trostle

Nick is our number four singles, he’s been on the team three years now and I’ll certainly miss him. He has been very successful and played doubles for us last year - he moved up the ranks as his skills have improved so it’s always good to see that. As he continues to play he’s going to get better and better and it’s impressive to see as his coach.

Ellis Snyder

Now THIS is the look of a tennis player. Ellis has been with us a number of seasons and has truly improved. He started out with doubles but has worked his way up to third seed so far and has only one loss this year - against Maple Hill. But he came back and was able to beat that opponent the other night which was a huge win for us. Ellis has an unconventional style but he uses it really well. His serve has improved greatly and he’s a player that will give 100% every point, all matches which is always nice to see as a coach. Ellis will be attending Clarkson next year.

Brady Grupe

Brady has been with us since his freshman year, he’s our number two singles player. Really him and Aden I could probably flip flop they’re so equal skill wise. Brady has not lost this year and his game has improved drastically. He has a killer forehand and when his game is on he’s tough to beat. It’s really fun watching him play. He has an exciting game in terms of the way he plays and it’s been a real treat for me to watch that as a coach. Also, Brady is one of the top players in our league.

Aden Weiss

Aden is our number one singles player and just like everybody the longer he’s on the team, the higher he moves up the ranking. He’s a solid player, plays a consistent game, and it’s been great to have him part of the team. He’s leaving early as a junior - Aden is graduating early and we’ll miss him. Aden is one of the top players in our league.
