The Winter Sports season is upon us. FamilyID opened today for JV & Varsity winter sports registrations. If you are looking to participate in any of the sports listed below, register your child today at https://www.familyid.com/organizations/greenville-csd-athletics. You can also find the FamilyID registration platform on the school website on the athletic page. I attached FamilyID registration directions as well. Sports offered during the Winter Season include... Boys Basketball (Modified, JV, & Varsity) Girls Basketball (Modified, JV, & Varsity) Cheerleading (Varsity) Boys Volleyball (Modified & Varsity) Modified is 7-9th grade and varsity 10-12th grade. Wrestling (Modified & Varsity) JV/V Sports begin on November 15th. Registrations opened today for all 9-12th grade students. Modified sports (7-8 grade) begin November 22nd. Registrations will open October 22nd for all 7th & 8th graders. All 7th & 8th grade students need to register for modified sports, not JV/varsity. Thanks everyone, Denise Wickham

The Greenville girls tennis team lost to Ichabod Crane in the Class B team sectional finals today. Great effort girls. Good luck in the sectional singles/doubles next week.

The Lady Spartan soccer team traveled to Maple Hill tonight to face off against undefeated Maple Hill. The Lady Spartans played to a 6-3 victory. The girls remain undefeated and earned the #1 seed heading into the Patroon Conference Championship tournament next week. Keep up the great work ladies!

Tonight two undefeated Patroon Conference teams faced off at Greenville. Greenville hosted Maple Hill with both teams looking for the number one seed going into the Patroon Conference Tournament next week. Greenville won the game 5-0 with a packed crowd cheering them on. Great game boys.

It is a great night to be a Spartan. Yesterday, at Coxsackie, Bryn Fitzmaurice won the Singles Patroon Conference Championship. Today the girls tennis team won their first Patroon Conference Team Championship. Great job Lady Spartans!

Girls Tennis is postponed today, September 23, 2021 due to the weather. This match against Coxsackie will be played tomorrow, September 24, 2021 at 4:15pm. This will be senior recognition as well.

Today is a busy day for Greenville athletics. Here is what I have for today JV/V Volleyball vs Chatham 4:15pm in the HS Gym (Only 2 spectators per player) Mod Volleyball vs Germantown 4:30pm in the MS Gym (Only 2 spectators per player) Girls Tennis vs Coxsackie 4:15pm at the Tennis Courts Boys JV Soccer vs Cairo on the Track Field 4:15pm (Please park in the student lot and lower staff lot) Boys Varsity Soccer vs Cairo 7:00pm on the Track Field (Please park in the student lot and lower staff lot) Due to the many activities going on today we will only be allowing handicapped, senior citizens, officials and the veterans to park out back this evening. We will have the cart available for those who would like a ride out the field. It is looking like rain so be prepared to get wet. Lets have a great night Spartans and Lady Spartans!

Fall Sports Registrations and Important Dates The Fall sports registrations are closing on August 19, 2021. If you have not registered your child on FamilyID for fall sports please do so before August 19th. The "Intent to Participate" was NOT the full registration. Our Fall athletic programs still have room for more participants. Currently, the teams that have the lowest numbers and may be in jeopardy of not running this fall are: Varsity girls cross country (4) Modified girls cross country (4) Modified girls soccer (11) Modified boys soccer (8) The girls cross country and the boys and girls soccer programs at Greenville have been very successful over the years. If your child has an interest in running or playing soccer please register now. The boys track & field team finished their season at the Section 2 Group 4 meet this season. The following track athletes were place finishers at the meet: Ryan Revell won a championship in the 400m with a time of 54.14. Patrick Close placed 4th in the 100m with a time of 12.23. Ryan Russell placed 2nd in the 1600m with a time of 4:45.16. Finn Kosich placed 2nd in the 3200m with a time of 11:18.42. Great season boys!

The girls track & field team finished their season at sectionals this year. Greenville had many place finishers at this meet including the following: Tess Fitzmaurice won two individual sectional championships - one in the 3000m with a time of 10:31.9 (41st in the state) and one in 2000m steeplechase with a time of 7:19.96 (22nd in the country and 13th in the state). Tess's steeplechase time was also a Greenville school record. Ella Mulholland, Caroline Kosich, Emily Smith, and Bryn Fitzmaurice placed 6th in the 4x400 (a team of 8th and 9th graders) with a time of 4:46.22. Caroline Kosich placed 6th in the 100m with a time of 13.80. Ella Mulholland placed 5th in the 200m with a time of 28.51. Great job this season Lady Spartans!

The Greenville athletic department hosted College Commitment/Signing Day for our seniors who will be taking their talents to the next level. Coaches, families, players came out to show their support for our seniors. The seniors honored today were: Melody Kappel will be attending Ithaca College, exploring possible majors, and playing softball. Ryan Russell will be attending Union College, majoring in Engineering, and competing on the cross country and track teams. Tess Fitzmaurice will be attending the University at Albany, majoring in Early Education, and competing on the cross country and track teams. Kaylee Burke will be attending SUNY Plattsburgh, majoring in Childhood/Special Education, and competing on the dance, kick line or cheerleading team. James Mitchell will be attending Bryan College in TN, majoring in Pharmacy, and playing soccer. It was a beautiful day to recognize the leadership, coachability, experience, and accomplishments of our seniors. Congratulations seniors and your families. You are leaving some tough shoes to fill.
