Greenville Central School District is located between the historic Hudson River, the spectacular Catskill Mountains and the growing Tech Valley region.

The Greenville Central School District serves students who reside in Albany and Greene Counties with the school campus, centrally located in the Town of Greenville, on the northern edge of Greene County. The school district, which encompasses eleven (11) townships, is approximately 135 square miles in area.

The location of 22 miles south of Albany, the Capitol of New York State, 135 miles north of New York City and 182 miles west of Boston provides many opportunities for the Greenville School Community. The proximity to these areas provides easy access to many cultural opportunities for our students, their families, and faculty. The Town of Greenville is accessible via the New York State Thruway and County Route 81 and Route 32 provides convenient access from western Albany County.

Our communities, with roots in agriculture, are well known for their rich history, as a tourist destination, and for those seeking the beauty of a natural setting.

Greene County is a place of planned growth. Current objectives of the Greene County Economic Development Plan include: expanding recreational opportunities and facilities to serve residents and their children, identifying industries in which Greene County has an economic advantage in attracting new businesses, and broadening and enhancing programs that support a tourism industry renaissance.

In addition, technology industries continue to grow in Albany and Greene Counties. Easily accessible via Route 32 will be the Vista Technology Campus which is recommended to include the 1.4 million square feet of building space for research, technology, and office space. Secondary uses will include a hotel, medical office building, banking, and opportunities for retail and restaurant spaces.

The surrounding area boasts of a unique variety educational and cultural enrichment sites. Adjacent to our school campus, Community Partners of Greenville (www.cpog.org) works with the school and the town to provide for recreational activities in the adjacent Vanderbilt Park as well as organizes music, carnival and art events for the school's rural communities.

The natural beauty and artistic richness of the region provides community members a wide range of outdoor and cultural activities throughout the year. Current enhancements in access to technology, recreation, and employment opportunities provide continued reasons to celebrate the region for its many opportunities.
