Dear Pre-Kindergarten families,
Welcome to UPK, and your child’s first year at Scott M. Ellis Elementary! We are excited to start the school year by hosting an open house for UPK students on Thursday, September 4.
On Thursday September 4th, please arrive at 10:00am, park in the South lot #2. A staff member will greet you and direct you to the UPK classroom. Please bring your child’s supplies, and remember to label everything with your child’s name. Open House is expected to be about one hour in duration (students will not attend full-day).
Friday, September 5- Full Day for UPK-8:40 arrival, dismissal at 1:40
The first day of preschool is an exciting experience for both parent and child. As noted above, Preschool’s first full-day of school is Friday, September 5th.
All students of UPK-12 will be on a full-day schedule for Friday.

Hello Parents!
My name is Denise Herwick. I will be your child’s Pre-K teacher this school year. I will keep in touch daily through a platform called Seesaw- similar to Facebook, but just for our class. I will share out photos, tidbits about what we are doing in class, and general school news. I will also be available for communication through school email. herwickd@greenvillecsd.org
Below please find a list of supply items that will help your child start off this wonderful journey. All other necessary items will be provided.
-Full Sized Backpack
-Lunch Box (for daily snack and lunch)
-One 2 Pocket Sturdy Folder
-Child Size Water Bottle (leak free, that your child can manage)
-Complete Change of Clothes (in a labeled zip lock bag)
-Small Blanket and Small (travel size) Pillow for resting time
-If needed, Pull Ups and Wipes
*Kindly label ALL items with your child’s name, throughout the year!
With the great sales going on, you might want to pick up some extra “school supplies'' for your child to enjoy at home! (i.e. a pencil box, crayons, markers, Fiskars brand scissors, glue sticks, watercolor paint set, composition notebook, playdough, and other fun items for your child to enjoy at their special work space at home!)
