YMCA AWARDS

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, three individuals from Greenville High School were honored as outstanding students and educators by the Capital District YMCA. Congratulations to Chloe, Madolyn, and Julie!

Chloe Uht - Sophomore
"Chloe is a passionate, hardworking young woman who is already making a huge impact on her school and community. She is independent, creative, sets high goals for herself, and is determined to achieve them. She strives for excellence in all that she does. She is currently the salutatorian of her class and is maintaining a 98 grade point average. She is enrolled in her school's more rigorous academic pathways and has already taken two dual enrollment college courses. However, her extracurricular activities are what really make her stand out. She is a member of the Yearbook Club, Student Council, Interact Club, Class of 2028, and DECA. She is an aspiring sports media influencer and has decided to take this talent and bridge the gap between our school sports program and our community. She has created her own website and follows the high school sports teams, reports on their performances, and highlights talented athletes that her school is producing. She was also instrumental in implementing our first ever sports media day for our athletic teams. Chloe possesses everything the YMCA Outstanding Student award embodies."

Madolyn Kenna - Sophomore
"Madolyn is a terrific student and a dynamic young woman. She is a dedicated student who is eager to learn and motivated to do well in all areas. Academically, Madolyn has consistently taken a rigorous college preparatory program that has included honors, advanced placement, and dual enrollment college courses. She is currently maintaining a 98 cumulative grade point average and continues to make the honor roll. Teachers consistently describe her as being "conscientious and dependable" and are impressed by her "outstanding work ethic." Madolyn is a well-rounded individual with many interests other than academics. Her motivation and determination are reflected in everything that she is involved in. She is a dedicated and active member of the Greenville FFA Chapter, Student Council, and DECA Club. Within the FFA, she has served in three executive roles that have included Parliamentarian, Reporter, and Secretary. Within all of these organizations, Madolyn has assisted and helped facilitate numerous community service and fundraising activities. She is well respected by her peers and always seems to establish a great rapport with the members. In her spare time, she enjoys sports and has been a member of the girls' soccer and cheer teams. Madolyn is an extraordinary student and has the perseverance, desire, and diverse extra-curricular background that makes her a great candidate for this award.

Julie Woodhull
"Julie's first job subbing at Greenville was almost 30 years ago. Her degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management provided jobs that did not coincide with her children's schedules so she decided to start subbing and to her surprise, found that she loved it. She ran a daycare center for 5 years then returned to Greenville as a full time teaching assistant; this is where she has been for the past 20 years. Her father was a dedicated School Board Member for Greenville for many years, and part of the board that helped create the high school. Like her father, Julie wanted to leave something for the school community. Last year, she created our Middle School/High School Clothes Closet, where students can shop for clothes, personal care items, and food all in one room. She hopes it will serve students for many years to come."
