Greenville Robotics Team #10475 Wins at FTC Peekskill Tournament Trophy

On Sunday, February 13th, the Greenville MS/HS Robotics Club "SpartanBots #10475" competed in the FIRST® Tech Challenge Peekskill Qualifier Tournament for the Excelsior Region and was part of the winning alliance at the event.

The robot that the SpartanBots team created was reliable, robust and performed very well throughout all the matches at the Peekskill Tournament advancing the team to the New York Regional Championship on Sunday, March 6, 2022, to be held at the Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica.  The team was able to pivot from the Broadalbin Tournament held the previous weekend to make necessary design and programming changes as well as improve their game strategy that led to their strong performance at the Peekskill tournament.

Additionally, the team received the Innovate Award for demonstrating Gracious Professionalism, building and programming a stable, reliable robot as well as documenting their journey through a written 100-page engineering notebook.

The Peekskill Tournament featured 23 teams from all over the state including several from John Jay High School, Albany Academies, Scarsdale, Seton Catholic Central in Binghamton, along with community teams from Putnam, Warwick, and Ossining to name a few.   The entire Robotics Club Team is very proud of this accomplishment as the competition at this event was very tough.

The mission of the FIRST® organization is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

The SpartanBot FTC Team #10475 is a Middle School/High School  Robotics Club at Greenville Central School, an International Baccalaureate World School located in the Town of Greenville, New York.
