Watch Mr. Urban's Update!
Good morning, families, and welcome back to a new school year.
I'm Mr. Urban, and I'm the principal here at Ellis Elementary. I'm coming to you with my very first Urban Update for the new school year. I'm very excited to be back.
We're going to talk about communication this morning, because that's one of the most important things we do here at Ellis. I want you to know and understand that we take communication very seriously, so I'm going to explain to you all the ways that we plan to share all of the learning and growing that's happening here at school.
On Monday afternoons, you will receive an email from the district with a link to my "Urban Update" every week. I like to record a video to let you know what's happening here at Ellis. They usually are about a minute or less, because we know your time is valuable. So please, check that out on Mondays.
In terms of classroom communication, our teachers use the Seesaw app. I would suggest downloading that if you don't have it already. Our teachers are also very responsive when it comes to email. Those are the two best ways to get in touch with your student's classroom teacher.
We take communication very seriously, because we feel it's important. We are partners in your child's education together and so we pride ourselves on helping you to understand what's happening at our school every day.
So be on the lookout for my Urban Update next Monday. It'll be the second one of the year, but the first one on a Monday. We are looking forward to a fantastic school year. We are so happy to have our students back. Talk to you soon!
