Please join us in welcoming Brady Rogers to the instructional team at the Middle School/High School! Brady joins the CTE Department as the new Technology Teacher, with a focus on middle school technology, woodshop, and other agricultural/technology related courses. He is originally from Sullivan County. Brady was exposed to agriculture and technology through his school's CTE-like departments and FFA program. After high school he traveled to Cornell University to study Agricultural Science, focusing in on Crop Production, Natural Resources and Precision Technology. He then worked on a large poultry operation before deciding to go back to school to teach. He completed his Master degree through a joint Ithaca-Cornell program, and taught in Afton for a year before joining Greenville's teaching force. Brady is excited to contribute to the CTE department, FFA program and local community.

To our Greenville Family: It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we inform you of the unexpected passing of one of our beloved teachers, JoAnn Simmons. As a member of our family for 36 years, Mrs. Simmons has left an undoubtedly lasting impact on our community. During the 2018-2019 school year, JoAnn was nominated by a former student for the National Life Group’s LifeChanger of the Year Award. “Mrs. Simmons did so much more than provide an education. She provided hope, taught students to believe in themselves, to search for and stay true to their strengths, and, above all else, to have compassion for everyone.” Mrs. Simmons will be missed more than words can express. We urge each and every member of our community to live their lives as she did: with hope, with care, and above all else, with love. For a firsthand account of the impact she had on her students, as well as the dozens of comments sharing their memories and attesting to the lasting impact Mrs. Simmons left, we encourage you to read her nomination here: https://app.lifechangeroftheyear.com/nomination_detail.cfm?NominationID=2463&NominationYear=2018&SchoolState=NY Respectfully, Michael Bennett Superintendent of Schools

Congratulations to Maddy Prayto, GCS softball player and incoming freshman, who pitched a no-hitter in the semi-finals at the USSSA All American Games! She was not only on her game on the mound, but at the plate too - batting over .700 with six doubles, a triple, AND a homerun. Maddy plays for the Northeast 14U All American team, who finished 2nd in the 14U Open Division in Florida last week. Congratulations, Maddy...you make us proud!

The first week of school is only TWO weeks away and we're so excited to welcome our students back! A few reminders to be aware of... 🎒 Classes begin for Grades 1-12 on Wednesday, September 7th. Classes begin for Kindergarten on Thursday, September 8th. 🍉 Our district is no longer eligible to receive the USDA waiver which allowed all students to receive free meals. You must fill out an application to see if your child is eligible to receive free/reduced meals. More information at the link below. ⬇️ https://docs.google.com/document/d/1q2Z9Fa4xx0g8BV2O-NPF40QX35VfC8M3yaDO5CQ0O38/edit?usp=sharing 🚌 Due to a national shortage in bus drivers, some bus routes have changed since last year. You should be receiving more information in the mail about this soon. 📅 Looking for a link to the district calendar? Look no further! ⬇️ https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1124/Greenville_CSD/1254342/GCSD_22.23_School_Calendar_BOE_approved_5.9.2022.pdf 🏫 More information on Middle School and High School Schedules will go out this week. ✏️ Any necessary school forms can be filled out and dropped off in the main office before school starts. ❓ Still have questions? 🏫 My name is Sierra Pizzola, I recently joined Greenville CSD as the School Communications Specialist. Previously, I ran my own website and graphic design business, assisting clients with branding and messaging. 🍊 I’m a proud Orangeman, having graduated from Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication and worked for SU’s Athletic Development Office. I was also the Marketing Director at Bellevue Country Club, a century old establishment in Syracuse, helping to rebrand, and refresh their imaging to appeal to a new market of members. ✈️ Aside from the exhilaration my work brings me, I love to travel both at home and abroad. So far, my favorite destination has been Italy, but that’s partly influenced by genealogy being among my passions. 💬 I’m grateful to be working with Greenville’s teachers, parents, coaches, administrators, staff, and the Board of Education to help drive the district’s mission both internally and externally through all communication mediums, including social media.
