The Greenville High School Science Club, under the leadership of the four full IB Diploma candidates, Nick Lucci, Lane Sutton, Evan Snyder, and Anthony Zhang, hosted a Science Night at Ellis for students in grades 3-5.

The Science Club designed experiments, purchased supplies, created pamphlets, advertised, and ran the experiments. This fun event was both educational and entertaining for the elementary school students and the high school volunteers.

Experiments included magic milk, making slime, sound and cup phones, pH indicators, and more. The event went very well and put smiles on the faces of many.

Two lucky elementary students won a science kit prize at the end of the night. The Science Club would like to thank the Greenville Educational Foundation for providing a generous grant to fund the purchase of supplies, Mr. Urban, Ms. Morse, and Buildings and Grounds for all their help.

The work these four students completed for Science Night satisfied the IB Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) project, which requires students to complete at least one project involving real, purposeful activities, with significant outcomes (like this one), a personal challenge, thoughtful consideration, such as planning, reviewing progress, and reporting reflection on outcomes and personal learning. The elementary school is incredibly grateful to Nick, Lane, Evan, and Anthony for bringing back Science Night!
